Volcanoes of East Java

From the highlands of Mount Bromo, this remarkable panorama reveals several of East Java’s volcanic giants. Dominating the left side of the horizon is the Arjuno–Welirang volcanic complex, with Mount Arjuno (3,339 m) and Mount Welirang (3,156 m) rising approximately 45–55 km away. To the right stands the isolated cone of Mount Penanggungan (1,653 m), located about 30–35 km from the viewpoint. Beneath a sea of clouds, these ancient volcanoes form one of Indonesia’s most spectacular mountain landscapes. 🌋
