Owakudani Valley

Panoramic view across the volcanically active Owakudani Valley in Hakone. Sulphurous steam rises from the ground while the Hakone Ropeway crosses the rugged volcanic landscape. The valley was shaped by the volcanic activity of Mount Hakone and is famous for its hot springs and black eggs known as “Kuro Tamago”.
